To appear in 14 volumes with critical commentary, a new biographical essay by Martin Morell, and essays on modal and liturgical organisation. Completion is planned by 2009, the 400th anniversary of the death of Croce.
The Edition will appear between the summer of 2007 (450 years after Croce's birth) and May 2009, the 400th anniversary of the composer's death. An international Festival in Venice in May 2009, concurrently with the 18th International Academy of Sacred Music, will celebrate the life and work of Giovanni Croce, with concerts and church services, including liturgical performances of Croce's Requiem I in the Basilica di San Marco and of his four-choir Missa super Jubilate Deo in S. Maria Formosa.
