Croce provides, as he claims in his foreword, all the music needed for Vespers of all major feasts. The edition includes the 'Deus in adiutorium' etc. found only in the lavish manuscript copy of the Vesperae written out for the Abbot of the Monastery of St Ulrich and St Afra in Augsburg, whose source is not known. The organ partbook, which seems to have been printed separately shortly after the original publication, includes indications for suitable transpositions for high-clef pieces.
